BitPay added per-card timezone controls today. Daily and monthly limits now reset at midnight (and on the 1st of the month for monthly limits) in the timezone configured for each card, not just UTC. Operators running global teams can match limits to their team's local schedule.
Common scenarios: a card used by a Singapore-based team can have a daily limit that resets at midnight SGT (UTC+8). A card used by a Berlin-based team resets at midnight CET (UTC+1). A card used by a San Francisco-based team resets at midnight PT (UTC-8). Each team's 'day' starts at their local midnight, matching their work patterns.
Previously, daily limits reset at midnight UTC - so a 12am-1am SGT daily limit reset happened at 8am local time. Operators running cards in non-UTC timezones had to plan around the offset. The new timezone controls eliminate that friction.
Timezones are configurable per card, not per account. An account can have cards in multiple timezones, matching the structure of the operator's business. Changes to a card's timezone take effect on the next limit reset cycle - no retroactive reset.
