Activity log retention extended to 24 months across all tiers

BitPay extends the default activity log retention from 12 months to 24 months. Operators running long-term programs get the historical data they need for audits and reconciliation.

BitPay extended the default activity log retention from 12 months to 24 months this week. Operators running card programs for tax compliance, internal audit, or regulatory reasons now have two full years of historical data accessible from the cabinet and via API.

The retention covers every transaction (deposits, conversions, charges, refunds, disputes), every card state change (creation, freeze, reissue, unfreeze, limit updates), and every configuration change (per-card settings, workstream assignments, threshold changes). All of this is searchable from the cabinet and exportable via API.

For most operators, 24 months covers two tax years and at least one full audit cycle. Operators running year-end reconciliation get two years of data without manual archive requests. Operators facing external audits have the historical depth to respond to inquiries without gaps.

CUSTOM tier accounts handling compliance-heavy industries (financial services, regulated gambling, public sector) can request 5-year retention. This is not a default - it requires explicit discussion of storage costs and compliance requirements. Most operators are well-served by the default 24-month retention.
