Card programs now scale past 100 cards per account with no extra fees

BitPay confirms the cabinet and conversion rails handle 100+ card programs per account. Operators running media buying teams, agencies, and remote SaaS operations have crossed the threshold.

BitPay confirmed this week that the virtual card program scales past 100 cards per account with no per-card fees or hidden charges. Operators running media buying teams, agencies, and remote SaaS operations have crossed the threshold - the average 50-200 card operator is now common on PRO and CUSTOM tiers.

Internal load tests show the cabinet and API handle 500+ cards per account without measurable latency change. The data model is per-card metadata in a single cabinet - the cost to add a card is one database row, not a new account or a new vendor integration.

Tier limits raised: FREE remains at 1 card, PRO raised from 10 to 250 cards per account, CUSTOM tier unlimited. Most operators running 10-50 cards fit comfortably in PRO. Operators running 50+ cards typically need CUSTOM for volume-based conversion pricing.

The threshold that matters is not card count but monthly volume. A program with 100 cards and $200K monthly volume is on PRO with $1,400 in conversion fees ($200K * 0.7%). A program with 50 cards and $1M monthly volume is on CUSTOM with bespoke pricing, typically under 0.5% effective.
