BitPay's Telegram Mini App now supports one-tap card freeze and unfreeze from inside any Telegram chat. Operators managing card programs through Telegram can lock a compromised card in under one second, without opening a browser, without navigating to the web cabinet, and without breaking their Telegram workflow.
The freeze action triggers haptic feedback (when supported by the device) and updates the card status indicator instantly. The action is reversible - the same tap unfreezes the card, with confirmation if the freeze was triggered in the last 30 seconds. This protects against accidental freezes while keeping the path frictionless.
Refunds continue to settle on frozen cards. A frozen card is not deleted; pending transactions are not interrupted. The freeze only blocks new charges from being authorized. This is the standard behavior across all BitPay surfaces (web cabinet, Telegram Mini App, API), so operators do not need to re-train workflows when they switch surfaces.
The Telegram Mini App also surfaces a single-page 'freeze status' view - operators can see at a glance which cards are frozen, when they were frozen, and by whom. Audit trail is preserved for compliance and post-incident review.
