Do I need to verify my identity (KYC) to get a debit card?

No. BitPay does not require KYC verification. You do not need to upload a passport, ID card, proof of address, utility bill, or selfie. You register with an email address and password, deposit crypto, and issue your virtual debit card. There is no identity verification step at any point in the process.

How fast does my crypto deposit appear in the USD wallet?

Your crypto deposit is credited to your USD wallet after the network confirms the transaction. Status updates appear in real time during confirmation. For Bitcoin, this typically takes 10 to 30 minutes depending on network conditions. For Ethereum and USDT, confirmation is usually faster. Once confirmed, the system converts your crypto to USD at the current exchange rate and the balance is available for spending immediately.

Which cryptocurrencies can I use to fund my debit card?

BitPay accepts eight cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), BNB, Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC), and Avalanche (AVAX). Your crypto deposit is converted to USD automatically and credited to your wallet balance. You then spend the USD balance with your virtual debit card. There is no need to manage multiple currency balances or time exchange rates manually.

Can I create separate debit cards for different purposes?

Yes. You can issue multiple virtual debit cards and assign each one to a specific spend category. For example, you can have one card dedicated to Google Ads, another for OpenAI subscriptions, and a third for online shopping. Each card has its own per-transaction, daily, and monthly spending limits, and you can freeze any card instantly without affecting the others. All cards draw from the same USD wallet balance.

Where can I use the BitPay virtual debit card?

Your virtual debit card works anywhere major cards are accepted worldwide. This includes advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads), SaaS and AI subscriptions (OpenAI, AWS, Google Cloud, Notion, Slack), online stores (Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, app stores), travel bookings (flights, hotels, ride-share), and any other merchant that processes online card payments in USD.

Do the web cabinet and Telegram Mini App share one account?

Yes. Your account, USD balance, and all your debit cards are shared across the web cabinet and the Telegram Mini App. You can check your balance, issue cards, top up with crypto, freeze cards, and review transaction history from either channel. There is no separate login or separate balance — one identity serves both surfaces.

Can I freeze or reissue a card if something goes wrong?

Yes. You can freeze any virtual debit card instantly from the web cabinet or Telegram Mini App. Freezing blocks all new transactions on that card while keeping your other cards active. You can also reissue a card to get a new card number, or delete a card entirely. These controls are per-card, so you never need to freeze your entire account.

Can I challenge or dispute a transaction?

Yes. Eligible transactions can be opened as disputes directly from your transaction history feed. Each dispute is routed through the platform and tracked with a clear status timeline. You can see the progress of every dispute from initiation to resolution.

What fees does BitPay charge?

The FREE plan has no monthly fee. You pay a 2.5% crypto-to-USD conversion fee when your deposit is credited to your wallet. The PRO plan costs $50 per month and lowers the conversion fee to 0.7%, with additional perks like unlimited cards, API access, and priority support. The CUSTOM plan offers volume-based bespoke fees. Is my account and card data secure?

BitPay uses session-based authentication, optional two-factor protection, and per-card security toggles including online/NFC/international spending switches. You can set threshold-based 3-D Secure policies that challenge high-value transactions automatically. Account linking, provider connections, and session controls are all managed from a single security panel.
