Referral credits now pay out to BTC in addition to USD wallet

Referral program participants can now receive their credits as direct BTC payouts to a wallet address, or as USD balance credit. Both options settle within 24 hours.

The BitPay referral program now supports two payout options for earned credits: direct BTC payouts to a recipient wallet address, or USD wallet credit on the recipient's BitPay account. Both options settle within 24 hours of the credit being earned.

BTC payouts have no minimum amount - even $0.50 in referral credit can be paid out. USD wallet credit has a $5 minimum because the cost of converting crypto-to-USD below that threshold is not economic. For most operators earning meaningful referral volume, the USD threshold is not a barrier.

Network fees for BTC payouts are paid by BitPay, not the recipient. A recipient receiving $30 in referral credit receives $30 worth of BTC at the current exchange rate, less the network fee - and the fee is paid by BitPay, not the recipient. This means recipients see the full credited amount in their wallet.

Referral earnings remain visible in the referral dashboard. Operators can switch between BTC and USD payout options at any time. The choice is per-payout, not per-account, so operators can take BTC on some payouts and USD on others based on their preferences.
